Occupation:   Industrial Electrician

Industrial Electricians install, maintain, service and repair industrial electrical equipment and systems. They conduct preventative and predictive maintenance programs and keep maintenance records.

Program Description:

Students in the construction/industrial electrician program learn to install and maintain electrical systems for all types of buildings and structures. Students analyze electrical theory and its application to lighting, power and control equipment. They learn problem-solving skills to trouble shoot and maintain electrical systems and equipment. 


Industrial electrician is a provincially certified trade. Journeyperson certification is available upon completion of a four-year apprenticeship program and required exam. Certified journeypersons can get Red Seal interprovincial certification which lets them practice their trade in any province in Canada.
